Timeless Truths: And She Was a Witch

We stared a long time at this piece, trying to label the emotions felt. There is such darkness, yet you can still make out the fear, panic, and envy.
We did not alter much of this image; with only changing a few details to make them more visible. The complexity that already existed felt well paired with the Mary Oliver phrase that came to mind when viewing.
Oliver has such a wonderful way with words, and love the reminder that the yin and yang are in constant harmony. We need the dark to feel the light. Shadows hold balance. Enter with your light bright.

Artwork Details:
- Based on the original art "And She Was a Witch" by George Fuller, 1877-84.
- The Mary Oliver quote is from her poetry collection Thirst, first published in 2006.
